Studio Policy
2023-2024 School Year Term
Dr. McBrearty provides flute instruction for beginner students up through adults, including postgraduates.
Studio hours are on Tuesday & Saturday online and by appointment in her home.
Tuition for Private Lessons:
The School Year Term consists of 33 sessions including 32 lessons and 1 recital. The term begins on Saturday September 9th, and concludes with a recital – date TBD.
Summer Session will begin the week of June 10th.

Tuition for the school year term may be paid in 1 payment up front, in 2 installments, or in 9 monthly budget payments.
A. Pay in full up front to receive the largest discount off the total tuition for the term. This payment is due at the first lesson in September.
B. Pay in 2 equal installments to receive a discount off the total tuition for the term. These payments are due at the 1st lesson in September & February.
C. Nine Monthly Budget Payments: 9 equal payments due at the 1st scheduled lesson of each month from September through May regardless of the number of lessons scheduled each month.
An accompanist will be hired to perform with all of the students at the studio recital at the end of the school year term in May. All students must pay a 1-time $15 payment to help cover the costs of the recital accompanist and studio insurance.
30-minute lessons:
A. $1,255 total for the School Year Term if paid in September
B. 2 installments of $640 due at the 1st lesson in Sept and Feb
C. 9 monthly budget payments of $147/month due at the 1st lesson of each month Sept-May
45-minute lessons:
A. $1,880 total for the School Year Term if paid in September
B. 2 installments of $960 due at the 1st lesson in Sept and Feb
C. 9 monthly budget payments of $220/month due at the 1st lesson of each month Sept-May
60-minute lessons:
A. $2,505 total for the School Year Term if paid in September
B. 2 installments of $1,280 due at the 1st lesson in Sept and Feb
C. 9 monthly budget payments of $293/month due at the 1st lesson of each month Sept-May
Class Offerings:
Crystal City Flute Choir: Tuesdays 7:00 – 8:00 PM
Flute choir will be offered on Tuesdays 7:00 – 8:00 PM. This is open to students in the 10th grade and up with intermediate to advanced skills. Students who do not take private lessons from me may participate in flute choir. We will practice and perform throughout the year as possible.
$250/per term or 2 installments of $135 due at the 1st lesson in Sept and Feb
Intermediate Flute Choir: Schedule TBD
An Intermediate Flute Choir will be offered to students in 6th-9th grade. Rehearsals time is based on the students involved. This is a great way to improve your skills and musical abilities.
$425/per term or 2 installments of $230 due at the 1st lesson in Sept and Feb
Beginner Voice Class: Schedule TBD
A beginner voice class for students ages 6 and up will be offered on a day that accommodates
the group. This class will be for a small group of students who will learn singing, basic piano
skills, and music reading skills.
$425/per term or 2 installments of $230 due at the 1st lesson in Sept and Feb
Beginner Flute Class: Schedule TBD
A flute class for beginners of any age will be offered on a day that accommodates the group.
This class will be for a small group of students who will learn the basics of flute playing and
musicianship.
$425/per term or 2 installments of $230 due at the 1st lesson in Sept and Feb
Refunds will not be given for missed lessons.
For lessons cancelled at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson, the lesson will be made up most likely as a group lesson. Make up lessons will be scheduled as needed throughout the school year. You may also swap your lesson time with another student when you know in advance of a schedule conflict.
The instructor reserves the right to cancel lessons at any time.
When Corning Schools are closed due to inclement weather lessons will be cancelled. Lessons missed because of snow days will not be rescheduled.
Recitals:
Recitals will be scheduled in the spring of each school year term. All students are required to prepare and perform in a recital. The flute choir(s) will also perform throughout the school term.
Expectations:
• Students are expected to arrive on time and be prepared for their lessons.
• Bring a spiral notebook for assignments.
• Parents should encourage their child to practice daily and create an encouraging practice environment at home.
• Tuition will be paid on time according to this agreement. Checks should be made payable to Angela McBrearty.
• Parents should provide the necessary materials: a flute in good working condition, with an adequate carry case and bag, lesson books, a metronome, and a music stand to use at home.
• Sign & return the waiver you were given with your emergency contact information.
